Education
Because of generous and caring sponsorship by Vergith Contracting in Henderson, Nevada the entire Clark County public school district has 1,000 copies of the book "Josh The Baby Otter" in their schools. This includes all the Las Vegas and surrounding cities in Clark County. They have also purchased and distributed 6,000 coloring books and stickers to give to every child in those classrooms to take home. With a coloring book in hand and sticker on their shirt, every child will go home the day of reading the early childhood education book and discuss water safety with their parents.

Also as of today over 725 copies of the book "Josh the Baby Otter" have been sent to all state licensed daycares in Nebraska. Copies of the book have been sent to the Head Start education coordinator for the San Fernando area of California and 250 copies of the book to the Arizona Head Start Association in Tempe for redistribution throughout the state of Arizona. We want to thank all of these individuals and groups for helping us spread this important message to all early childhood education groups about water safety.
To date a copy of the book is in every kindergarten classroom in Lincoln, Nebraska. Each year in Lincoln Nebraska alone this book about water safety will be read to over 3600 students. Copies of Josh the Baby Otter have also been sent out to every school listed in the Nebraska school registry for the entire state of Nebraska.
The Foundation would like to thank Erin in San Diego, California. She has read Josh the Baby Otter to over 1000 students. We would also like to recognize Jim Underwood in Meritt Island, Florida. His Rotary club purchased 500 copies of the book to give to each kindergarten student in their city. Special thanks also goes out to Barbara Gudgel in Panama City, Florida for her book readings. She helped to acquire a new otter at ZOO WORLD named Josh and the many children she has been educating there as a result. Thanks to all these wonderful people and others for helping spread the word of water safety and awareness. Together we will all make a difference.
